Our archive is currently inaccessible due to issues with the building. Because of this, we are currently unable to accept research requests. We are unsure of when the archive will be usable again, but we anticipate a delay of several months. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes.
Until we are able to begin accepting research requests again, we recommend that researchers check our digital archives for relevant material. Another excellent free resource for historical research is the Gateway to Oklahoma digital newspaper archive, created and maintained by the Oklahoma Historical Society. Please note: CCHS does not maintain histories of private homes or properties. If you are looking for information on your home, we suggest that you request a copy of the property's complete abstract from an abstract or title company. You can then use that document to learn the names of previous owners of the home, which can be a good starting place for your research.

Our programs are made possible in part by funding from the City of Norman, an Organizational Support Grant from the Norman Arts Council Hotel Tax Grant Program, a grant from the Norman Arts Council & the National Endowment for the Arts, and generous donations from visitors and community supporters. We are grateful for the support.
