The primary residents of the historical house, Harry and Daisy Lindsay, owned the home from 1908-1951. The Lindsay family is descended from Clan Lindsay, a Scottish lowlands clan which has existed for more than 900 years, and they have always honored and appreciated their Scottish heritage. In honor of this, our 50th Anniversary Celebration has a Scottish theme, and guests will enjoy a number of activities inspired by the culture and history of Scotland and Scots in America.
Join us at the Moore-Lindsay House on Saturday, May 17, 1-4pm for live music, crafts and games, food, and fun! We are excited to be joined by several wonderful local organizations! You will be delighted by local band Flowers of Edinburgh's personal brand of Celtic music with a kick, and two of the band members are direct descendants of Harry and Daisy Lindsay! Plan to stop by the Bagpipe Bites food truck to buy some delicious Scottish food, and make sure to stop and chat with Elise from the Pioneer Library System as she weaves a shawl in the Clan Lindsay tartan on her floor loom. For those looking for something with a little kick, local tasting guide Wendy Newport will conduct two whiskey tastings. Tickets are required for the whiskey tastings, and more information can be found below.
The Moore-Lindsay Historical House Museum and Cleveland County Historical Society would like to thank OEC for sponsoring this event!
